Here's how Halloween actually goes at the Shore. Six families converge on one house around four o'clock. Fourteen kids are already vibrating. Somebody's dad is still finishing a costume with duct tape. And whoever volunteered to host suddenly realizes that twenty-six people are going to need dinner before anybody walks a single block.
That's a catering order. Let us take it.
What Works for a Pre-Trick-or-Treat Crowd
Feed them standing up. This isn't a sit-down dinner — people are in costumes, kids won't sit, and somebody's always at the door. Sub, wrap, and sandwich platters (16" or 18", made with Boar's Head) are built for exactly this. Grab, eat, go.
Something hot for the adults. A half or full tray of baked ziti, penne vodka, or sausage, peppers & onions anchors the table and gives the grownups a reason to stay put while the kids tear around.
Sides that aren't candy. Trays of homemade macaroni salad, potato salad, coleslaw, or tri-color pasta. And a fruit or veggie platter, so the one parent who asks "is there anything healthy?" has an answer.
The kid-proof option. Hand-breaded Bell & Evans chicken fingers by the tray. Nothing else on a Halloween table disappears faster.
Our Halloween Hours
Saturday, October 31: 8:00 AM – 2:00 PM. Due to Halloween, our hours are messed up because of Trick or Treating.
Heads up though: we're closed Wednesday, as always. So if you need catering for Halloween, call by Friday, October 30 at the latest. Custom menus take 24 hours' notice, and the last weekend in October is not the time to wind up without a plan.
Breakfast First
Costume morning starts early. We open at 8 — a (Spooky) pork roll, egg and cheese ($7.99) is a solid foundation for a day that's going to end in a sugar crash.
