Here's the move most parents don't think of: you don't have to order a made sandwich to shop at a deli. Come in and buy Boar's Head by the pound, sliced fresh while you wait, and build lunches all week from good meat instead of whatever's shrink-wrapped at the supermarket.

The difference is real. Freshly sliced meat stays tender and folds properly into a sandwich; pre-packaged slices sit flat and dry out by Wednesday. Ask us to slice it however your kid likes it — thin, thick, shaved. It costs you one stop and saves you four mornings of disappointment.

Not sure what to get? Turkey and American are the safe bets. Ham and provolone if they're feeling adventurous. Roast beef if you're raising someone with taste.

We open at 8 AM, which for a lot of families lands right in the window between drop-off and everything else. A pork roll, egg and cheese ($7.99) is a considerably better start to the day than the granola bar you ate standing over the sink.
